Ayané Chrun is a multi-media artist born in Paris in 2005 and raised in France with Japanese, Chinese-Cambodian origins. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Design degree at Goldsmiths University of London while simultaneously debuting her career in fine arts. She designed the merchandise for the 17th edition of the KINOTAYO Japanese Contemporary Cinema Festival in Strasbourg and Paris which took place at la Maison de la Culture du Japon, with the theme celebrating strong Japanese women, a subject dear to the artist and one that she frequently explores in her overall body of work. Ayané uses her bold use of colours and illustrative skills as a vessel to enlighten and denounce injustices such as misogyny and to unveil concepts, and feelings that often remain unspoken or hidden in the shadows, sparking critical conversations and encouraging social change through her art.
